Katherine Burke Johnson

An avid lover of horses since the age of five, Katherine graduated from the Virginia Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. She began working in Culpeper, VA as an ambulatory veterinarian for Blue Mountain Equine. After two years she joined Woodside Equine Clinic in Ashland, Virginia. Katherine enjoys working in the fields of lameness, preventative health and emergency medicine. In her free time she still turns to the barn to ride her horse, Paris, and compete in local horse trials. In January of 2008, Katherine established Dragonfly Farms, LLC to provide lay-up and retirement horses with the best possible care.
Bruce Johnson

Bruce, a Richmond native, has a strong background in horticulture, landscaping and farm work. Previous work has been in local nurseries and greenhouses, and as a self employed landscaper since 2000. Bruce enjoys his job as a grass farmer. Working to improve the farm in a sustainable manner, he manages the herd of Belted Galloway and Angus cattle to produce excellent grass fed beef. If not working Bruce might be found riding Sassy, the big Belgian mare, or searching the pond for the biggest fish.
